The ATO has released a new webpage highlighting this deadline and other key reporting dates for not-for-profit organisations. You can use it to check whether your not-for-profit organisation is up to date with its tax and super obligations. You can also find more information in Assistant Commissioner Jennifer Moltisanti’s August blog post.

Customised training

One way to help improve your board’s effectiveness – train together!

An effective board is critical to the success of your not-for-profit organisation. Many factors come together to make a board effective. These include board members understanding their legal roles and responsibilities, and the importance of the not-for-profit's purpose. These factors contribute to sound boardroom decision making.

Our customised training on β€˜Governing a not-for-profit’ focuses on these factors. In this interactive session, your board can come together to learn what are their legal duties, how to comply, and why your organisation’s purpose and governing document are important. They’ll apply this knowledge by working through realistic hypothetical scenarios facilitated by one of our experienced lawyers.

It’s a great opportunity for board members to get on the same governance page!
